EcoCoins are your reward for taking real, verifiable climate-positive actions. Once your EcoActions are submitted and validated, the EcoCoins you earn are added to your wallet—and once you hit the minimum threshold, you can cash out via PayPal or Zelle.

How Do You Earn EcoCoins?

EcoCoins are awarded based on the impact and proof of each action you take. The more consistent and impactful your actions are, the faster you’ll earn.

Below is the complete list of supported EcoActions and their rewards:

1. Switch to LED Bulbs

Summary: Replace old incandescent or CFL bulbs with LED lights to instantly cut energy consumption and lower your electricity bill.

Sustainability Impact: LED bulbs use up to 80% less energy and last longer, reducing both carbon emissions and landfill waste.

Instructions:

Buy certified LED bulbs.
Replace your old bulbs.
Submit a photo of the new setup.
Earn: 70 EcoCoins/watt

2. Use Efficient Transportation

Summary: Choose low-carbon travel like biking, walking, carpooling, or public transit instead of driving solo.

Sustainability Impact: Lowers fuel use, air pollution, and emissions.

Instructions:

Use alternative transportation.
Take a selfie before and after the trip.
Log the action in the app.
Earn: 30 EcoCoins/mile

3. Compost Food Waste

Summary: Turn kitchen scraps into compost instead of sending them to landfill.

Sustainability Impact: Prevents methane emissions and enriches soil.

Set up a compost bin or join a program.

Submit a photo of the item in use.

Sustainability Impact: Supports creativity and a wide range of sustainable behaviors.

Instructions:

Select “Other Action” in the app.
Describe the action briefly.
Submit a relevant photo.
Earn: Varies (5–25 EcoCoins depending on impact and proof)

What Happens After You Submit?

Each action you submit is reviewed to ensure it matches the sustainability goal and photo proof requirements. Once validated, EcoCoins are added to your wallet.

You can view your current wallet, monthly progress, and total CO₂ savings under the Dashboard tab in the app.

When you’re ready, go to the Withdraw tab to cash out your EcoCoins via Zelle or PayPal.
